Year of the Horse

Chinese New Year Day is on January, 31 2014. Punctuated by firecrackers, dancing and music, the three major costumed parades which pass through several districts of Paris are organised by the resident Chinese communities, in celebration of Chinese New Year.

These take place in the 13th arrondissement, in the Marais and in Belleville.The Chinese New Year parade in the 13th arrondissement is the largest Chinese New Year celebration in France. It welcomes people from all backgrounds who gather to watch the parade with its Chinese dragons and firecrackers. A traditional celebration will welcome in the year of the wooden horse, which will bring many festivals and cultural events.
